Erkki Keldo was born on 7 November 1990. He is in a non-marital partnership and a father of one. Keldo joined the Estonian Reform Party in 2012 and is a member of its board.

About the job of the Minister of Economy and Industry
The Minister of Economy and Industry is the head of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and is responsible for its areas of government, with the exception of drafting the Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Act.
The minister is appointed and released from office by the President of the Republic on the proposal of the prime minister. The minister will assume office by taking an oath of office before the Riigikogu.
- In addition, the Minister of Economy and Industry is responsible for foreign trade and the management of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- The Minister of Economy and Industry is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund.
- The Minister represents Estonia in the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union in matters relating to foreign trade, in the Competitiveness Council in matters relating to the internal market, industry, tourism, innovation, and space, and in the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council in matters relating to employment, working environment, employment relationships, equal treatment, and gender equality.
- The Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry is responsible for the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority, the Labour Inspectorate, the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund, the Land Board, the non-profit association Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation, the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency, the Tallinn Science Park Foundation TEHNOPOL, the Tartu Science Park Foundation, the Estonian Stockpiling Agency (AS Eesti Varude Keskus), KredEx Credit Insurance Ltd (Aktsiaselts KredEx Krediidikindlustus), and Metrosert Ltd (Aktsiaselts Metrosert).
