The remuneration compensation is paid to undertakings operating in Harju and Ida-Viru County that have suffered heavy economic losses due to the restrictions arising from the COVID-19 control measures. The proposal to extend the remuneration compensation was made to the Government by the Council of the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund.
The cost of this change is 8 million euros, of which 7.6 million euros will be covered by the unemployment insurance funds, and the cost of the compensation measure for self-employed persons is 0.4 million euros, which will be allocated from the reserve fund of the Government.
