Kallas confirmed that environmental and climate issues are a priority for the government. “One of the greatest challenges for our near future is to fully prepare for the green transition. Although all areas must contribute to the process, the minister of the environment has a very important role to play in this,” said Kallas. “I would like to thank our coalition partner for quickly finding a new minister candidate when the need arose, so that the work could continue as smoothly as possible.”
The previous minister will be released from office and the new minister will be appointed on the proposal of the prime minister by President Alar Karis. The new minister will assume office by taking an oath of office before the Riigikogu.
