Brussels, 14 June 2021 – Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, together with President Egils Levits of Latvia and President Gitanas Nausėda of Lithuania, met with President of the United States Joe Biden at the NATO Summit in Brussels. At the meeting, the Prime Minister of Estonia and the heads of state of Latvia and Lithuania reaffirmed close allied relations with the United States and co-operation in an increasingly complex security environment.

Prime Minister Kaja Kallas emphasised that the military presence of the United States in Europe and the Baltic Republics is of critical importance to our security. ‘US leadership in NATO is indispensable.  We can be sure of the US security guarantee’, said Kallas.

‘NATO must preserve its technological advantage.  This includes the addressing of threats arising from the development of technologies,’ said Kallas, who invited Biden to participate in the Tallinn Digital Summit, in September, where, inter alia, the involvement of capital based on trust and transparency for the development of infrastructure and digital connections will be discussed.
