“As we head into another tough winter, the European Council needs to send a clear message that we will stand firm in our support of Ukraine until it secures victory,” he said.
Discussions between the heads of state and government attending tomorrow’s meeting of the European Council will focus not only on Ukraine, but also on the situation in the Middle East, EU competitiveness and migration issues.
Prior to the meeting, Prime Minister Michal will be taking part in the EU-GCC Summit, which will explore possibilities for closer economic and political cooperation. The member countries of the GCC are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The Estonian head of government will also be meeting today with European Commission, Council and Parliament presidents Ursula von der Leyen, Charles Michel and Roberta Metsola.
